i know.. its monday.
so i been working on this for a while... i been going back and forth on the background.. i was think about doing more sky with lots of clouds... or should i follow the image?
Before you go any further you may want to take a look at the back leg. It may just be the sideways-ness but it looks slightly awkward. As far as the background goes, it's up to you. Though I feel the sky would probably add to the piece more than the current background. It would give the balloon a sense of height.
I suddenly feel like the lighting on the photo should be the background, or have that light source be centered on the balloon. But I'm suggesting a major chance so unless you're set on your current specifications, then just go with it.
Truthfully, I didn't notice the leg until after people said stuff. It should be an easy fix though, so no worries! ;) As for the background, I think that the dirt and grass should end just behind his head, an then from that to the top of the paper more sky and more trees! It looks fabulous so far! You + pastels = magic!
Yeah you are a pastel master ;) I like the sky idea, but I also like the background of the picture / : It is up to you, but perhaps extend the sky a little further down and still keep the dirt and stuffsss :)
Is it a brown paper? or is it the flash thats making the paper brown? I like the brown background the way it is now... It makes me concentrate on just the boy and the balloon..
Art Soup has been created in an attempt to combine conversation and writing in the hopes of bringing a higher level of understanding and energy to the artwork produced at Collins Hill High School. This blog will hopefully aid students in the development of their portfolios through an online collaborative learning environment amongst art students as well as between art and language arts students here at CHHS.

ReplyDeleteAnd fix the balloon. And the leg.
The problem is the ankle when it comes to leg.
ReplyDeleteI agree--the sky with clouds would be awesome in this!
